I was sitting in the cell-like room of my dormitory while everyone was celebrating the end of the induction week at my University. Since the event was happening just outside the yard of the dorm, I could hear the voices of happy and energetic students who had participated passionately in all the activities during that week. I was blaming and questioning my mind and soul for not going outside, getting involved, and enjoying student life instead of reading boring Computer Science books. I asked myself why I could not become the person who exposes myself to people, is extroverted, and enjoys the life she is experiencing. Yes, I was the person who buried myself in my world, only studying, desiring good grades, and aiming to become a professional. But seeing the outside world and my coursemates being very communicative, managing both study and extracurriculars, made me wonder if I was not using my full potential. Deep down, I knew that the solution was going outside, meeting my new coursemates, and forming friendships by exchanging ideas on how to start our academic journey. The difference between them and me was my frustration at that very moment. A stream of questions ran through my mind, and with some courage, I barely pushed myself after that incident. I began visiting small events and participating in national holidays held at different places, but I was still afraid to approach and be sociable in front of people. After the first midterms, I witnessed many students struggling to get good grades and master some subjects. Since I am good at math, I decided to mentor my peers. That is when my A+Club came to life. I started talking with my peers who were good at other subjects and invited them to share their knowledge with those struggling. I organized the days to teach each class, made announcement posts, reserved rooms after classes, and created sample question papers, managing my personal life simultaneously. Almost all students visited A+Club's mock exams, as my prepared questions closely resembled those of the professors. Most failing students in midterms succeeded in finals due to their hard work and the unconditional help from peers through A+Club's learning space. I have developed adaptability, problem-solving, and courage, realizing my full potential and correctly using it for the community around me. This realization led me to be a leader in two student clubs and an ambassador in three social organizations. Because I embody effective altruism. I am always ready to serve my community, helping each individual thrive by being a role model and a leader. Leadership and impact do not require a specific position or company; they start with beliefs and actions. When I see a societal problem, I do not just observe; I search for viable solutions, utilize my collective experience, learn new things, and put them into practice.

Compilation of Robert Ssekolya (Teacher, professional writer, mentor, business man, renowned blogger) On October, 1, 2020, history will unfold that at 10pm during Agataliko Nfuufu (scrutinized news broadcast) at Bukedde TV, His Excellence Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the president of Uganda and one of the most serving presidents of Africa since the continent's renaissance was quoted to have said 'there is no country in the world which is more democratic than Uganda '. Well, we have no mandate to discretely refute the presidential statement before having a critical reflection and introspection of the metamorphosis of democracy way back from 1962 when Uganda celebrated her independence. Based on a comparative analysis of the lens and moot question of democracy under different governments both local and international governments, and to a certain degree, we bestow honor and thank His Excellence president Museveni for realizing a pocket-sized democracy in Uganda during his 34 year old leadership trajectory. However, as the incumbent president seeks reelection in the forthcoming presidential elections, his government is called upon to reexamine itself in the way it manages and administers the resources of the country mostly the human resource to leverage its stance on democracy. If we were to unearth how Ugandans are constantly brutalized and dehumanized by the current regime then...things would take a new twist, the genre of our story wouldn't be a SCI-Fl or a romantic story but rather... ...if you value and dignify humanity and you were once at the sad scene gazing at the last breath of your family member, neighbor or a friend being grappled and annihilated by the perpetrators of democracy, you can concur that such high pitched statements are based on facts. To date, we are still experiencing a terrifying wail of many innocent Ugandans who lost their lives while spearheading the political campaign to propel the country to the peak of a new government. It's critical that the current government redefines the term "democracy" so that prior to the terminal phase of the election process, Ugandans are satisfied that autocracy no longer assumes any position in the political leadership of their country. Does it fashionably call for resignation of the incumbent president to revive the country through unfeigned democratic systems? Maybe...it's difficult to pursue such an ideal decision, however, if this could be a nightmare especially to many protagonists from the NRM political wing, then such pro-NRM cadres (the iconic actors in the evolution of the NRM party) can cherish the following duality of options; They can either craftily draft another plan (plan B) that will restructure the NRM leadership systems and ensure that democracy prevails in the African Pearl. treacherously continue to blindfold Ugandans with false pledges for fear of dislodging the incumbent president and in order to suppress the driving forces inducing the leadership transition from a cohort of prehensile rulers. All sectors should design blueprints that reorient them to demonstrate democracy in their operations. The police, judiciary and other law enforcement organs are not only accountable to peace and tranquillity of the natives but are also mandated by the constitution to enforce performance and standards in the application of the law against offenders irrespective of their political affiliations and socio-economic backgrounds. They ought to streamline their interventions and service delivery pathways by responding to the outcry of Ugandans in pursuit of practical and effective administration of law and justice. The assumption is that all people have equal inalienable right to self expression and justice. We earnestly request, the government and its organs as highlighted above, all private actors including but not limited to human rights activists, individual organisations...to play a pivotal role in promoting the civic rights of all Ugandans especially during this time when Ugandans are cogitating about the election countdown. The ultimate goal is to observe the Rule of Law as well as ensuring that democracy is prevalent in Uganda and that harmony flourishes throughout the country. Expressing our feelings, emotions, thoughts and sharing ideas, insights, knowledge and wisdom is always our corporate job in a bid to fix the problems overwhelming our society.
THE HOCUS-POCUS OF THE INCUMBENT REGIME TO RESIST LEADERSHIP TRANSITION AND OSTRACISM OF THE AUTOCRATIC PRESIDENT. Recently, a complaint was lodged against the legitimacy of NUP leadership, but the question resonating in the minds of the Ugandan populace and the international community is, will justice prevail and appease the parties to the dispute?What are your projections in the resolution of this litigious matter? Let's first have an overview and a critical analysis of the motives and hidden agendas of subjecting NUP to this state of political agitation by the trembling regime; The strategy of the dictatorial leadership is basically to; 👉 disorganise and subjugate NUP political activities and transitive programs. 👉divert the attention of the public to create a platform for the regime to continue taking advantage of the Covid-19 situation, ignorance and reticence of the public to manipulate the country in all sectors like oil industry as it siphons gross monetary resources from these assets as unveiled by the public procurement audits. 👉paralyze and delay the administration of justice in matters related to NUP political wing and people power movement. 👉 lower the motivation of many oppressed Ugandans mostly the youth who are constantly thirsting for change and ousting the mafia government out of power. We cognitively acknowledge that the judgement trajectory yet to be pursued is concretely based on falsehood, political conspiracy, corruption and hypothetical grounds. Our biased and compromised judicial sector is on trial and a watch over by Ugandans and the international community to see whether it will show credibility and professionalism in administering justice in regard to the complaint lodged by a fraction of the political agitators against the leadership of NUP because such people are opposed to change of the office of the presidency and in other critical leadership areas, they are irrationally desirous of perpetuating autocracy at the expense of the soaring frustrations and pessimism of Ugandans. However, we can discern what is currently boiling in the law sector. The organ is still craving how it will cunningly dive into this legal matter and meet the expected legal standards within its legal framework and jurisdiction. Unfortunately, it's speculated that the judiciary is being illegitimately disoriented, and misguided in its decision making process, it can no longer enjoy its independence and autonomy, it lacks public trust and has been infiltrated by the corruptible crooks. No doubt, it will hardly show its credibility in making a right and fair judgment because the move is politically influenced and fueled by the mafias at the helm of manipulating the country. More so, it will find it more challenging to reach to the threshold of a fair and reliable legal resolution within the projected limited schedule (timeline) to execute the final judgment. However, if the judiciary fails to execute or get hold of its powers and authority conferred by the constitution of Uganda but rather opts to submit to the directives, pressure and repugnantly illegitimate conditions of the complainants, l bet, no final court hearing and judgement will be effected this year, the legal entity will keep adjourning its final legal intervention in the matter pretexting to be on grassroots still venturing in aggravating more practically based evidence implicating NUP, and in favor of the incumbent autocratic regime not until we shall transition into next year. This will be a big fallacy that will grossly cost the judicial sector and affect the reputation of the Ugandan government at both local and global scene. *When humanity fails to accelerate change, nature does it solely with its powerful tools which at times might lead to the overthrow of the dictator and facilitate restoration of hope among the formerly marginalised households and societies!*—Robert Ssekolya!
Women are a different species, but very sweet. Unfortunately, women do not head too many organizations. There could be a reason to it. Most women when they reach a respected level, they become obsessed with their career that they neglect their family. This arrogance reflects in business too and eventually they stagnate. It could be old fashioned to say that a woman learns the most in the kitchen. Some values do not change with time. A woman learns multi-tasking inside the kitchen. This doesn't mean she should be confined to kitchen. She should be given opportunities to apply her learning in a corporate environment. If she could show the care she gives inside a kitchen to her work, sky is the limit. In many ways men do not accept women to go ahead so quickly. But it is also true that you can push the ball under the water only for so much time. It eventually comes up. Men and women are equal but different. For example, 2+3 and 4+1. There is no point in comparing men and women. It is like comparing apples and oranges. They possess different qualities. They should understand their capabilities and work on it. The least anybody could do to a woman is to respect her and put a smile on her face. She deserves it!

Your culture is the base of your knowledge, beliefs, arts, policies, habits, and a pretty thing that you share with your most loved ones. There is no doubt your culture plays a major role in your capabilities. Please take this idea into account: carry and respect your culture along the way of your development because you deserve to do so. We talk a lot about peace, justice, and strong intuitions for the development of our societies. Without considering approval, the possibility to achieve and handle these issues is very little. The characteristics like language, religion, music, cuisines, dances, and belief systems play a significant role. You are the leader, a leader of a nation, a leader of the world. I am a supporter of your leadership have a dream, I want peace and developing world and I highly value my culture. Your duty as a leader is always to promote the culture of your people in the united circumstances on behalf of your people. Our civilization has been facing challenges like violence, human rights issues, security, and justice problems. What are your goals? What are the things that you can share with the world and the whole civilization as a person? Your lifestyle is your heritage. People will value your way of life as the level of respect you show to your traditions. You spend your time learning other people's culture and to accept the things you agree with (I hope so). I want to share a belief of mine with you because you are good. We can go to the goal of peace by sharing our culture while developing our progress and process. I want you to know I respect you and your culture and hope the same from you.
“Shy kids never shine” Naturally, as a 17 year old girl living as Gen Z, this quote struck my eye as I was about to swipe through the never-ending Snapchat stories. I replayed this particular story about five times, just to make sure that I had read it right. There it was, written on the whiteboard at the top in blue marker surrounded by a bubble. My initial reaction was to make a pun, also natural but in a more personal way. Ahaha yeah, shy kids never shine, they shy-ne I snickered in my head, too embarrassing to say out loud. An hour later though, it floated right back into my head, because of a stupid comment by a stupid teacher. I'm aware of how much I sound like a 21st century teenage cliche, and that's okay. Once you learn how to accept yourself, it's much easier to go through life without having to meet people's expectations. Before the quote really hit me, I had gone to the careers office in my school, as my friend had requested my presence while she went to pick up a form from the careers teacher. As I stood idly, waiting for the teacher to fish out the paper from one of the desk drawers, she turned to me and said “Have I seen you before?” Hmm. I had a feeling where this was going, but I replied nonetheless. “Not personally. I mean, I've come to this office a few times when my friends had career committee meetings, but not like, personally to get advice from you.” A pause. “I have never seen you. Or is it because you're wearing your hair open today?” I shook my head no. “And the fact that you're a prefect too? That's sad.” She scrutinized my red tie and the badge that read “prefect” in bold, gold letters that the school insist all of us authoritative figures wear. I felt myself get defensive immediately, intimidated by her tone and the words that accompanied it. “Um, I mean you have seen me though, I've gone up in assembly for being a prefect and my clubs and…” She cut me off and said “Yeah but that was in a group. You've never been up to speak individually have you? Mmm. So you kind of just…fade into the background. No one ever remembers the shy students.” And just like that, my good mood had turned sour, and it was as if someone had poked a hole in my body as it slowly deflated. What irked me the most was the fact that I had been doing so much in the past year as it was my last year before university, and that was clear as I indulged in activities such as community service and made a name for myself such as holding a prefect position. And not even because I needed them to look good on my c.v, but because I had finally started to come out of my shell and genuinely enjoyed them. So why did I care so much that this teacher, who wasn't even involved in other aspects of the school apart from careers, didn't recognize me, and so essentially, recognize me as a student of this school? It was because I knew the type of person that I used to be, and how far I'd come, and her blunt words bought me right back to the past. Introvert. Shy. Awkward. Behind the scenes. Under the radar. Closed-off. Quiet. Mostly synonyms of each other, and none of them new to me. In my previous school, I had been the dictionary version of a wallflower, never really participating in any events, though I knew it would benefit me later on. Always sticking in my comfort zone, with the same group of equally as shy friends. Always cowering away from the limelight. Neutral. Unknown. Faded. Even though I knew that I had become a completely different person in a good way, improving myself and getting to this point where I participated in a bunch of clubs and socializing with people, it made me angry that a teacher could be so blunt and crush someone so easily. Even if I was still that shy girl that I used to be, it didn't make me any less worthy than people who had the confidence to speak in assembly all the time and make themselves known. Some of the most famous people were the most shy kids, and most of the processes that work today are due to people behind the scenes, sometimes never getting credit for the effort they put in. The world isn't fair like that, but for a teacher to put someone down without even knowing them, it's a different story. I know I'm just 17, but I truly have made so many experiences in the last two years of my A levels that have provoked me to reflect on myself everyday, and want to share them with people who can relate. Like I said in the beginning, it may be cliche, and sometimes I may act like it too, but as long as you know your abilities, it really doesn't matter what anyone else thinks of you. For any teachers, or even parents out there; please encourage your kids in the right way. Let them know that they're never too quiet or too loud, and that they can achieve regardless. For those of you who're still trying to figure this whole life thing out like me; you'll never be too shy to shine, and a quote I used to relate with that still makes me smile, “never let them dull your sparkle.”
In this selfish, capitalist society that prioritizes self-interest and personal gain, it is indubitably easy to get caught up in the world and lose sight of who you are. In times like these, I find it easier to be led than to lead myself further into the depths of despair. When I look to be led, I always turn to the Bible. The core principles of my faith lead me in the right direction every single time. It is within the Holy Book that I've encountered some of the best leaders the world has ever known, including but not limited to King Solomon, Daniel, and Joseph. The aforementioned individuals demonstrate the three characteristics of leadership that I value most: humility, wisdom, and dedication. Firstly, Solomon was appointed to rule God's people in the Kingdom of Israel. One fateful night, he dreamt that God had asked him to make any request and it'd be fulfilled. Solomon asked for wisdom. He could have asked for wealth, fame, power, or any other superficial item but instead, he nobly asked for wisdom to help him lead. His selflessness in the act of denying himself of worldly pleasures for the sake of the kingdom greatly pleased God. As a result, God blessed Solomon with immense wisdom, never before seen by anyone who came before him and never to be matched by anyone after him. Solomon applied his wisdom to many situations in his time as king, one such being that of the two quarreling women and their babies. One of the babies had died, and both women claimed to be the mother of the surviving child. To discern who was telling the truth, King Solomon suggested cutting the baby in two so that each woman could have half. One woman cried out in protest saying she'd rather the baby be given to the other lady than watch it be slayed. With this, King Solomon established her as the rightful mother. The manner in which King Solomon's resolved this case was a great manifestation of wisdom. Next, we have Daniel, the renowned survivor of the lion's den. Ever wonder how he got there? Well, the king at the time, King Darius, was tricked by the various ruling bodies of the kingdom into passing a decree that prevented any prayers to be offered unto anyone but himself. Daniel 6:10 says Daniel went home that day and prayed aforetime, or as he regularly did. He was caught. The same wicked subjects of the king that had him issue the decree persuaded him to throw Daniel into the lion's den as punishment. The King did so reluctantly, and in the morning came to see Daniel's fate. He was glad to see that Daniel's God had protected him, and to find that Daniel was a faithful servant of the Living God. Daniel's groundedness in his beliefs and the way he held on to his values made him a leader because he stood up for what he believed in, unassailable even in the face of death! Finally, we have Joseph, who remained admirably humble in his adverse tale of rags to riches. His brothers despised him for being his father's favorite. This was made apparent when he gifted him a coat of many colors. God had a way of speaking to people through dreams (see Solomon). Joseph had two dreams, both of which signified his supremacy. His brothers were enraged and conspired to exterminate him. His eldest brother was not in full support so he ended up selling him to some traveling Ishmaelite traders. His coat was then soaked in goat blood and shown to their father to convince him that Joseph had been mauled by a beast. Joseph ended up in Egypt, where he worked his way up the ranks of their political hierarchy, eventually becoming administrator. Through this tumultuous journey, Joseph faced a myriad of hardships including being seduced, almost dying, and baring the hatred of his own siblings, yet he was able to recognize God's hand in everything, and in Genesis 50:20 he says to his brothers “But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good...” To be able to forgive the people whose jealousy rewrote your fate even though you have the power to punish them as you wish takes a special kind of humility. King Solomon's exemplary use of wisdom, Daniel's steadfast adherence to his beliefs, and Joseph's ability to remain humble are the golden standards of leadership that all leaders should strive to emulate. Wisdom allows one to rule with expert jurisdiction. Humility enables one understand and see eye-to-eye with their subjects. Finally, commitment lets a leader's people know that they are in good hands. Therefore, it is with awe that I reiterate, the characteristics of a leader that I value most include, humility, wisdom, and dedication as taught in the Bible.
Between war, negative life circumstances, depression and my dreams which one will win? You will be an important person, an American soldier told me. Alone in the jungle, I am freezing, I am hungry, I am afraid. There is a lot of blood. Let me hide. There are dead bodies. What's going on? I do not know where I am. I am lost, I am afraid of Dracula. The Bush is moving, it might be a lion, not maybe a tiger or cheetah. Oh my God, I am too young to die. Anyway, I am not ready to die. Come on, dying at this age. I just totalized 11 years old one week ago. “I am screaming mom, dad, where are you? Like ten times”. My parents are not responding. I am hearing some noise, it is a roar. How did I get in a jungle? All these thoughts in my head, let me take a nap and maybe tomorrow will be a better day. I remembered Mama once said to me “jo never ever forget to pray before sleeping" in my prayer I thought God to bring back my parents and help me remember what happened? I found a tree where there was a little bit moon shadow far away from those dead bodies. I decided to force myself to sleep despite it was cold. In my dream, my mom and dad calling my name I am alone in the jungle. It was all dark. ''They found me and mom asked me why am I alone and crying?" "I told them I am lost, and I was looking for you". "'My dad told me don't cry any more, my son". "You are the son of a leader who will be a leader". "He said son remembered you have my blood." "I gave you everything u need". "Life is going to be difficult but if you are keeping working hard and praying". "One day you will be successful and make us proud". "Life took us away from you, but we are watching over you and just know we love you". After that, I saw a person with a bright shadow appearing and tell them the time is up. My mom and dad hugged me for the last time, and they disappeared. Directly I woke up in the jungle early in the morning, I thought about my dream, but I realised what happened yesterday was a bad dream. instead, it is a reality; I am a child turned a man. So, I decided to find a way out or find where people are. I started walking, walking without resting and I didn't eat. I kept walking until I saw a river. I was thirsty so I decided to drink water from the river, and it tastes like salt, but I had no choice. Then I had a pen and a small paper in my pocket, but I don't know where it was from. the pen I had in my pocket just felt down in the river. It started flowing and I decided to follow the pen as I followed the pen, I saw a girl running so I decided to follow her. By following her, I saw there was a kind of armed soldiers I never saw before after her, so I decided to run smartly behind them to discover what is going on? Then I saw one of the soldiers getting out of the car and took her by force, so I was behind the remaining soldiers. I saw the soldier who was before her, trying to take off her clothes so she is shouting leave me alone and I thought they want to rape her.
My Grandma's little mini cooper was silent. You simply could not hear it. Which is why on the day when I knew my mom was on her way, in my Grandma's little blue mini cooper, I sat by the living room window and stared down our long driveway that was half way covered with trees. We had moved to California because my mom was about to be a single mother of three children, one of them a newborn baby. My mom was staying in Phoenix until the baby was born because that was where her doctor was. We were staying with the grandparents on our mom's side. I remember when my little sister was born, even though I was only three, everyone told me I had to be the example because the younger siblings alway look up to the older sibling. That freaked me out a little bit at first but then I realized it just meant I got to be the bossy one. The organized one, which I love organizing things, it is by far my favorite thing to do. That and boss people around, or lead them as my mother would always say. She would tell me, “A leader is better than a boss because a leader sets the example and a boss just barks orders at people. Be the leader.” We had gotten the call about a week ago that my little brother had been born. I was spending the night at my Nana Geri's house at the time. I remember her phone ringing and her picking it up off the coffee table, her face lighting up when she saw who was calling. I asked her who it was and she just put her finger to her lips telling me to be quiet. I always forgot my manners when I was excited about something. About three minutes into the call she smiled and said, “Your mom wants to talk to you”. I practically leaped across the couch and attacked her hand for the phone. My mom told me my brother head been born and that she would be there in a week. So, there I sat, at my grandparents house looking out the window down the long tree covered driveway watching for my grandma's silent Mini Cooper. When I saw it at the end of the driveway I screamed to let everyone know she was hear and then ran out the door to greet my mom. When I saw her she was holding my brother in a little blue blanket and smiling. I will never forget her tired smile. It was the one we saw when she came home exhausted from work, but still ready to play games with us and make dinner. She even made time to teach us how to cook and do chores which we enjoyed because we got to spend time with her. I gave her a hug and then we went inside and sat on the couch. When I asked to hold my brother my mom just said, “make sure to support his head like this” and gestured to the way she was holding him. I held out my hands and she put him in my arms. I just sat there for a while holding my brother. His name was Kheiron. I remember his face was all wrinkly, he looked like an old man. He looked up at me with eyes full of kindness. We called him squeaker because he did not cry, he squeaked. He fell asleep in his little blue blanket, and shortly after that I also fell asleep. I helped take care of him all the time, just like I had with my sister. His favorite thing to eat was rice when he got old enough, which I thought was odd because my sister's favorite thing when she was younger was bananas. I could peel a banana but I could not cook rice, so I asked my mom to teach me and she did. It was not because I had to, I just liked playing with babies and taking care of them. I thought they were by far the cutest thing in the world. And when they cried I couldn't do anything else until I figured out what they wanted. Everything my mom had taught me I wanted to teach them. In my mind it was the example I had to set. Being a big sister showed me that it is not about being the eldest or smartest or the one that always wins, but rather a lifetime leader.
What I want to talk about is a solution that I have come up with as an African leader which I think is a sustainable way to finance development and transformation in community areas of Africa. We have an existing problem in our community when it comes to continuance availability of developmental funds which has led stalled improvements in our living standards and has led to some of the community projects either cancelled or halted and I believe it's also what most communities and counties in Africa face. I believe the solution is the establishment of a development fund for our community of which its proceedings will be used to develop our communities and their transformation. last rain season every household in our community was told to contribute money to make repairs to damaged community roads. But a few weeks after the repairs were made the roads were damaged by rain again and people become reluctant to contribute money again. This is an example of situations many areas in our country face were there can be an availability of funds for infrastructure maintenance and development but the source of the funds is not sustainable. I see that the main problem is not just availability of development funds but the problem is also the continuance flow of those funds in order to complete their objective. In the example I gave about how our community contributed funds to develop our roads rather than wait for government, the problem come because the source of the funds was not sustainable and when there was pause in contributions from the people, the project failed. The problem also manifest in many projects in our country evidenced by the countless number of unfinished projects that have turned official headquarters for those running from the law all because there was a halt in flow of funds . When I was thinking of a plan that can be put in place to insure that there is a continuance flow of funds that can be used for infrastructural and community development , then I found a certain book about Malawi's history where part of it talked about an initiative that our former president Dr. Bakili Muluzi established in 1995. Instead of injecting money directly into development projects he established a trust fund, the Press trust fund. The fund invested the money that Dr. Muluzi channeled to it and then from the profits it acquired from the invested it made was used to fund different projects like building schools , hospitals and also funding other initiatives and The fund has been around for years and it continues to grow in size . This is the approach I want our communities to take. If I was a leaders of our society I will lead to the creation of a development fund or Trust that we can use its revenues for the development work of our community. instead of contributing money to fund one project at a time, the Best approach is contribute money for establishment of a community trust funds that can invest in different business or low risk investments like mutual funds, then the revenues that we get from the investments be used to finance development of our community in things like road maintenance, buying teaching materials for our local primary school that usually don't have small materials like chalk and other things. The fund can also invest in businesses people are involved in which means it can also foster economic empowerment. Strict rules, guidelines and protocols can be put in place on how to operate the development fund to ensure its proper operation and accountability so as to make sure no one person misuse the funds which is also what rocks many projects in Africa. In implementing such an initiative I can like very much to work with the youths so as to involve them in coming up with sustainable solutions to the problems in our society because as everyone says that the youth we are the cornerstones of the society and we are the next presidents, minister and executives. If the youth of today accept responsibilities , take part in coming up and implementing sustainable solutions to our problems and work towards the development and transformation of their societies then we will have great leaders in our society and together we can uplift our societies , the country and the world at large. Sometimes small actions matter in solving a problem than wait for those we look up to and maybe this small actions may motivate other people into a movement that can change the world. So I think the model of creating development fund for our society can turn into a movement where development funds will be created by other societies, countries and leaders because of its sustainability. If the youth I can work up with ends up seeing the benefits of a development fund then a new generation of leaders will be emerged with a different perspective towards financing development and transformation in a sustainable way.
Due to the chaos happening now in the country and in the arab world as a whole, especially after the arab spring, a great initiative and a great step must be taken to make the change. Not anyone can take the risk or has a particular vision of change. That task needs what we call him a leader. Facts are always correlated like that. Nowadays, the notion of a leader is misunderstood. Thus, a clarification of leadership definition is highly needed, as well as for the particular profile of a leader, in order to make the difference between him and a boss, as, apparently, the current situation mentioned above is full of bosses. A widespread definition of leadership says that is the activity of leading a group of people or an organization or the ability to do this. Of course, this is the very common, simple, and surface definition of the notion, but, it is really more than that. Wherefore, the literature debates various viewpoints, contrasting Eastern and Western approaches to leadership, and also, within the west, we could recognize a U.S and european approaches. U.S academic environments define leadership as “ A process of social influence in which a person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task”. Leadership, seen from a european and non-academic perspective, encompasses a view of a leader who who can be moved not only by communitarian goals but also by the search for personal power, Margaret Thatcher once said: “Don't follow the crowd, let the crowd follow you.” Then, studies of leadership have produced theories involving traits, situational interaction, function, behavior, power, vision, and values. This would open the door to look into the particular profile of a leader. A leader is a well determined composition of features, as according to Sun Tzu: “ Leadership is a matter of intelligence, trustworthiness, humaneness, courage, and discipline...Reliance on intelligence alone results in rebelliousness. Exercise of humaneness alone results in weakness. Fixation on trust results in folly. Dependance on the strength of courage results on violence. Excessive discipline and sternness in command results in cruelty. When one has all five virtues together, each appropriate to its function, then one can be a leader.” Therefore, a leader is not only a person in control of a group, country, or situation. John C.Maxwell once mentioned that leadership is not about titles, positions and flowcharts, and that is about one life influencing another. Leadership is an attitude no more, no less. It does not matter whether you are a CEO of a company or you are 23 years old and you are just get started, if you have influence over one life, you are in a leadership. That involves establishing a clear vision and sharing it with others so that they will follow willingly. Also, to make things more practical, a leader is the one who provides information, knowledge and methods to realize that vision. Coordinating and balancing the conflicting interests of all members and stakeholders, are what make a great leader. He steps up in times of crisis and is able to think and act creatively in difficult situations. That particular attitude distinguishes the leader from the boss. It is easy to think bosses and leaders are the same. However, they are nearly opposites. It depends on understanding and using the power, as “Power isn't control at all_power is strength to others. A leader isn't someone who forces others to make him stronger ; a leader is someone willing to give his strength to others that they may have strength to stand on their own.” Leaders lead, motivate, and empower. Bosses just try to get the job done, and while they are focused on themselves, leaders look for ways they can help and encourage those around them. A leader understands that people working with him, are essential to a community success, treating them as equals and providing them with helpful direction. Bosses, on the other hand, give out orders and view others as disposable inferiors. Now, leadership is quite clear concept. So, a true leader is the only one who can make the change and lead the change as well. He will, definitely, create an atmosphere of inspiration and motivation which will be both the first impulse to make people think positively towards their communities.
