Food Review

'Chocolate Parfait'
Metro Surigao Shopping Center and Food Gallery
Surigao City | Philippines

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

"We eat with our eyes first", Yes, Indeed.
I was craving for an ice cream and just in time whe my classmate invited me to buy some in one of the most nearest place to eat desserts, the Food Gallery inside Metro Surigao Shopping Center. I was aiming for a Halo-halo but then a picture on the menu caught my attention. A dessert called 'Chocolate Parfait' captured my heart and made me grabbed some money from my pocket and ordered a delicious and chocolaty dessert. It cost me P95.00 which is not a friendly budget for a student like me. The ambiance of the place was so calm and very instagrammable as well, however, the customer service was very dissapointing. The cashier gave me an inapt look which is not delightful to me as a customer I don't know what's the stroy behind it but I am looking forward for an improvement of their service.

When the crew served my order I was so excited to try it and what I'm more excited about was to try their cute long handled teaspoon. Basically, it was a tall glass, layered by ice cream mixed with a chocolate flakes, and topped with whipped cream, small sized kisses toppings, chocolate syrup, and a milk flavoured super stick. I love how the chocolate syrup was placed in the glass it gives a very aesthetic look which is the reason why my eyes and my heart fell in love with it. The whipped cream was vapid which is good for me in order to balance the flavours of each ingredient. The small sized kisses will totally go crazy inside your mouth and it will give you a very satisfying feeling every time you crunch each of them, just like mine. The chocolate flakes added a very good flavour to the parfait and the ice cream tastes like selecta ice cream which I gave a very good point for it, I mean, who doesn't love selecta ice cream, right?

However, while I am in the half of my glass of the parfait, the taste of the small sized kisses were turning into peanuts, which I don't like, it is becoming so distasteful in fact I did not finish eating it and I realized that I wasted half of my 95 pesos. But, it really depends on you. Personally, I am not a fan of eating too much sweets and I don't like peanuts. We have different kinds of likes and dislikes, so this review won't affect you if you love sweets, and if you can finish a tall glass of parfait. In that way you won't waste your P95.00 and will enjoy yourself eating the dessert inside their cool and fresh place, viewing the wonderful city of Surigao.
