LIVING IN DOMINION was the theme of the Crusade at St Charles. So that evening we had a counseling session with Padre Collins .A by 4pm so I hurried my way just to be on time. Making my way down the road that led to the Worship Center, as I felt I could make use of a walk at that moment, I saw from afar 2 lovers of football knocking themselves out with very interesting shots, one a lad & the other a much older young man. Drawing closer, I just felt it like..."this ball nor miss road hit me o!", and before I could rest with that declaration, the ball came bouncing towards me. I felt like... O gosh! But then I decided to play along & display some amateur skills of which failed me. Sorry!.... I wasn't able to halt the ball in the end. Twas a 2 minutes moment of Street fun ๐Ÿ˜… Overcoming that scene with much glee jingling inside of me, the distance from the Church didn't seem any farther.... but then, another soccer field! ๐Ÿ˜…. Football definitely isn't my calling I reaffirmed myself chuckling all over me. This field had a wild formation of very restless lads who gave zero cares about their shots & whether it was offensive.... to them, proving their prowess was Ultimate. Gently swallowing my spittle & praying inwardly ...."God let this ball not hit me"....Omo, see the ball coming at me furiously like one Super Shot from the Boys Soccer Team video game. Ah! I dodge am! Pausing a while, I looked sternly at the lil man who felt sorry for giving my heart such a pump to deal with, then I kept on my journey to church. On my mind, I felt like phew! Thank God no more Soccer Team on the street. My hopes for a peaceful walk! But this hope was cut short.... honestly I must tell you ๐Ÿ˜…. This time around, the journey seemed so far again like I had just began, my pupils dimmed in heavy resentful blur like I never had my lenses on. O my God.... omg, not today, not now, why me I sniffed in despair. The unfortunate reality looking me back in the eyes was the fact that ahead of me were 5 unkempt & starving SNOW WHITE miss-road Ducklings digging into the rubbish by the way side just ahead of me. At this point I could see my destination, I was near, truth telling I was near the Church, I don't need a bike now, I told myself, not when I can see the Church's gate... o boi! Sobbing with a tender resentment, I cajoled myself "gal u can do this, just walk on the other side" As I drew closer, I looked at the security Men sitted ahead of me who were caught up in their discussion but spared a few minutes to notice me. Meeting their gazes, I looked away cause it was no use, how would I ask them to walk me just to get pass these feathers. For God's sake I wasn't thinking out loud but just as I finished nursing that thought in my mind, one of the Ducklings raised its head staring at me with much peeved reaction like trying to tell me "DONT YOU DARE THINK ABOUT IT" AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Uwa m! I assumed some steps backwards & paused. It didnt take time for the Security Men to notice my Cross. At this point, I needed a bike I concluded but none came along my way.... how wicked can life be? At this moment, I felt I could use a set of wings & fly over these red-beaked hurdles ahead of me. Gosh they were so cute to look at but I knew the cantankerous nature in them could sense my discomfort & to make things really awkward, I had a brightly colored, eye catching peach shirt on.... I pitied myself! After I had summoned momentum from the East, West, North & South, I told myself "BABE MOVE ON TO THE OTHER SIDE, THEY WONT NOTICE YOU"..... I thought. Taking my steps one at a time & trusting my counsel, it felt like I was entertaining the Security Men as they began to laugh & giggle at me.... hm, who cares! So I went on. Still scheming my steps, I don't know but the same Duck that harassed my cool with its early gestures lifted its head this time & started running towards me.... ๐Ÿ˜ฒAhhhhhhhhhhhh nooooo no no no! No doubt my senses responded to the quick burst of stimuli as the adrenaline in me had signaled my Medulla Compartment to run, at this point I could feel the hairs on my skin simultaneously trying to run pass me but thank God they are members of my skin ๐Ÿ˜…. I couldn't deem running backwards an option, remembering my glorious days as a track athlete which I had passion for & not Football, omo, I ran faster than the Speedy Gonzales, even Hussein Bolt couldn't stand a chance. Smelling in the air my victory over those quack-quacks, I stopped & managed a huge laugh out over what seemed to me as a Mission Impossible & then I composed myself rejoicing when I got to God's house ๐Ÿ˜… ๐Ÿ˜‚ ......phew!
