"Christmas 2020"

Jul 15, 2021 3 years ago

It did not come, Like the years before, Things were different, The burdens we bore. Many families struggling, Day to day, Just trying to get by, Little work with bills to pay. December crept in, Before we knew, Children waiting for Santa, What`s a parent to do? The Grinch never got a chance, Because you see, Covid stole our lives, It changed you and me. Lock your doors, And cover your face, Stay away from others, To win the covid race. Once a great divide, We became a nation of one, Once the power of class, Came undone. Friends from the ruins, Of the great covid scare, Christmas may not be the same, Covid is unfair. Let this be a reminder, Where covid once stood, Life changed for the bad, But mostly for the good. The bills will still be there later, Santa will still come, He will visit us all, Not just some. Santa lives in your heart, He lives in me too, Covid can`t take that away, You know this is true.
