Diana Polhac

pre-med student who loves writing

Davis, United States

I am currently working on obtaining a B.S. in Neurobiology and a minor in Aging & Adult Development at the University of California, Davis. Most of my undergraduate career, I participated in research on the auditory cortex. In my third year, my grandfather was diagnoses with cancer and passed away later that year. This experience prompted me to pursue a cancer research summer program (CREU) at University of Colorado, Anschutz Medical Campus. After graduating, I want to pursue an MD in neuroscience and a PhD in geriatric oncology.

In addition to my passion for research, I have a profound love of writing. I immigrated to California from Europe when I was 8 and my love of writing blossomed from having to master the English language very quickly.

Outside of academia and research, I am a freelance makeup artist and use my skills to volunteer time at various organizations. I also enjoy photography, yoga, hiking, reading, cooking, watching movies, exploring museums/zoos/galleries and spending time with my many pets.
