Changes and how we react BIOPAGE WRITING COMPETITION
i am a "child" so when it comes to pandemics i don't really have a say, though i may be young i do have my own opinions which some may find "irrelevant" or "wrong" i still have them, and i strongly believe in them! Globally, cases of Covid-19, better known as Coronavirus started to spread in around February of 2020, people were told by their government to stay inside and only go outside if absolutely necessary; after that didn't work many countries started to lock down. I live in Tanzania; which is in Africa, many other African countries went under lock down but Tanzania never did. Schools switched to online learning and adults started to work from home, i personally did not take online schooling well i could never manage to hand in the assignments on time and didn't always get to finish all my work as my younger sister and i were sharing a computer so we had to take turns. During quarantine, my family and i got closer we would make sure that every evening we would all gather to do exercise. Together we would play many games including running around, and playing football, etc we did this for many evenings until we stopped. i guess, we stopped because everybody started to lose motivation, corona virus was killing thousands of people globally and i guess nobody was in the mood. Cases in Tanzania were rapidly increasing daily! many people lost their jobs anyone who entered the country were forced to quarantine themselves in a hotel for 14 days. My dad and my mom aren't together, my mother's family live here; in Tanzania and my dad lives in London we get to visit him every year and also every year he comes here for a few months. So while the whole pandemic was going down my dad was doing some work in Ethiopia though he wasn't planning on coming to Tanzania borders were quickly closing and my dad chose to be with us during this time. Things started to ease very quickly here in Tanzania. People were allowed to go out without masks, schools ran by the Government started to open up and people were starting to go back to work. On the morning of July 13th me and my sister, mum, and aunt went to the hospital, my mum was 9 months pregnant and was going to have an ultrasound! little did we know that the baby was getting much to big and needed to come out today! My driver quickly dropped my mum at the hospital and drove us to our grandma's house. At 4:55 a baby at the weight of 4.1 kgs was born. My sister had arrived! She was born with a mighty pair of lungs! though she didn't cry much but when she did you could hear it from a mile away! During quarantine I've done a lot of cooking; which i love doing, I've cooked dinner for the whole family some nights and they all love my cooking! Everything is getting back to normal and during this pandemic my whole mindset has has changed although in a way this pandemic has negatively impacted the world i believe it's also had a positive impact. I believe that during this pandemic people have learnt to be more hygienic and cherish every single moment you have with all your loved ones because, the world can change within a snap of two fingers.
