Letter to Younger Self

Dear Younger Self There is so much I want to tell you, so many lessons I have learnt along the way. So many highs and lows, tears and thrills but just know that your strength is immeasurable. You will get through it all no matter what. You are an incredible blessing and do not ever forget that God is always in control. “Akuruma nzeve ndewako,” and I hope you will learn something from my journey thus far. It is never too late to be who you want to be or to follow your dreams. Awaken that sleeping giant for within you lies a unique and special gift. It is right in front of you, your own bit of genius just waiting to be tapped. Do not let fear hold you back, I know you have struggled with it from a young age but the sooner you conquer it the sooner you will realize the vast potential and unlimited power you carry. You have the power to create what you want. Own your life girl! You are your own competition. Do not let anyone dictate the pace or course your life should take. When faced with a difficult decision slow down, take time to think things through and do not rush into things. Sometimes it is ok to sit back and let things unfold on their own. Take a good look at yourself in the mirror... right there looking back at you is the only competition you have. Be unique, work hard and test your own boundaries until you become a better version of yourself. Put your heart in everything you do, it does not matter how small the task is...hauzive chakakodza nguruve…it just might be a gateway to your success. Move out of that comfort zone and that way you pave way for greater breakthroughs! Stay true to yourself and to your values! Stand by your principles and firm in your beliefs. We all need validation from others in some aspects of our life and it's ok to rely on their feedback and encouragement but self-validation is also important, know your true self-worth. You cannot please everyone and that's ok. Some walks you have to walk alone, not everyone will be there every step of the way. Some walks will be difficult, lonely, sad and unbearable but always keep the faith. Looking back you will realise that God was with you all along and above all greatest life lessons come from these walks. Do not take anything for granted, appreciate the journey and whatever else it tags along. Remember that it is not always about you and you cannot get everything you want. Know your surroundings and treat everyone with utmost respect. Your health is your most valuable assert, take a walk exercise and eat healthy, you honestly do not need that much sugar in your life. Your mental health is also crucial, confidently forgive yourself for missed milestones and opportunities, if it's not life threatening let it go, it is the only way forward. There is also no shame in not knowing but rather an opportunity to learn something new. I could go on and on about a lot of things but for now know this, love with all your heart, count your blessings and make every moment count. Love, Your future self
