My Quarantined summer

Jul 06, 2020 4 years ago

This school year was almost one of the best I've ever had. I got on the teams I tried out for and joined clubs. Everyone in school was my friend. I was getting invited to parties and hangouts. I was the star player on the basketball team. Then in January, BAM! My parent decided I should be homeschooled. That has one of the biggest hittest I've taken. All my friends said that they were sad I was leaving the school, but we should remain friends. Still, my doubt obviously stayed. It was okay though because I still hung out with my friends. I was excited about the summer. Then the coronavirus happened. Next thing I know my AAU season was over before it ever started. Then I can't leave the house. I spent most of my day looking at Instagram seeing people, who don't have strict parents, at the lake. By this time you're probably thinking, "Wow, this kid's life is sad." Well, at the moment I most likely would have agreed with you, but actually I'm not thinking about this summer like that. During this summer I actually met so many people that go to my school or went. People I had no idea even existed. Then I build friendships with those people. I also talked with people from school, but I lot of people didn't talk to me. I didn't let it bother because I had those other people. So you see a summer that seemed like an epic fail waiting to happen actually turns out pretty good. I learned who was one of my acquaintances, my friends, or my best friends.
