My name is Chetan Kar, and I'm a 14 year old child studying in Bangalore,India.Ever since I was 10,I was really fascinated by the art of programming.I just fell in love with the idea that we humans could literally speak with the computer,tell a computer what to do,how to do. It started as a way I could show off.I used to show off a lot as a 5th grader.One day,a very good friend walked over to me and said, "Hey,you keep talking about all the awesome things you have?Have you ever tried coding?"Back then,I didn't even know how to spell 'coding'.But,I was a show off.I said yes.He asked if I new web design(Html,CSS,JS,php).I didn't even have a clue of what my very good friend was talking about.Believe me when I said that I almost fell asleep!The bell rang,and I was heading back to the class as soon as I could,so I could escape from the huge lecture my friend gave me. Pretty soon,it was time to go home and the word 'coding' was in my mind all along.So,as I reached my home,ate my lunch and watched my favorite show,I went straight to my desktop and did an hour of research.I came across so many different articles.I felt an actual interest in something after such a long time of showing off.So,I asked my dad more about the topic.He was a programmer,so he gave me so many answers.When I asked him if I could learn,and he supported me a lot.So,I went and started my first lesson. Then I learnt that it is easier said than done.But,I got more and more interest in the idea of web design.I started making front end web pages with Html and customized them with CSS.But I didn't stop there.I learnt other designing languages like W3.CSS and Bootstrap.Still more curious,I dived into the basics of SQL and server scripting with PHP. I thought then would be a good time to start a project.So,I started the project.I learnt python for the server-scripting,which made it even way easier for me (for those of you who do not know,server scripting is the communication between the html and the server).And within 5 to 6 months,I completed the project.I even started socket programming with python. So,it was from that one good friend and my show-off attitude that I dived into programming.I am currently in 8th grade,and my knowledge of the subject has increased a lot. Now,there must be a lot of kids out there who want to learn programming like me.It isn't easy in the beginning,but once you pick-up interest,then you can do almost anything.Now,of course,I'm no expert.But,what I would recommend for other children like me to do is to learn the basics of web design,before diving into stuff like machine learning and AI.Because,then is when you can learn the basics.I would also recommend python for a beginner,again to get a grasp of the basics.
